Jeffrey Plaza Named Chairman of Bernards Township Planning Board in 2014

Basking Ridge, a section of Bernards Township, was originally settled in the 1720s by British and Scottish people escaping religious persecution.

The Inquisitor

Attorney Plaza has been involved in the Bernards Township community for many years. He was previously appointed a member of the Bernards Township Zoning Board of Adjustment from 2004 through 2012, during which time he served as both Chairman and Vice Chairman.
..
BERNARDS TWP. - Jeffrey Plaza was re-elected as chairman of the Planning Board at the board's annual reorganization meeting on Tuesday, Jan 6.
Jodi Alper was re-elected as vice chair.
In a rare occurrence, none of the board's nine regular memberships changed hands from last year.  The Township Committee has recently tried to keep the membership stable for a long-running review of a proposal to build a mosque in Liberty Corner.
The board consists of Plaza, Alper, Mayor John Malay, Randy Santoro, Mary Pavlini, Barbara Kleinert, Peter Hagen, Kippy Piedici and Louis Carlucci.
Also returning are Paula Axt and Leon Harris as the first and second alternates, respectively.
..
BERNARDS TWP. – A lawsuit seeking to overturn the Planning Board's denial of a proposal to build a mosque in Liberty Corner has been filed in federal court.
The suit, filed by the Islamic Society of Basking Ridge (ISBR) and former township Mayor Ali Chaudry in federal court on Thursday, March 10, names the Planning Board and several individual board members and township officials.
