Anis Ahmed of Anaheim, CA, affectionately known as Chico, passed away on January 6, 2017. He died as he engaged in life, energetically doing what he loved, and in this case playing tennis. Born in Bangkok, Thailand, Chico came to the United States as a young man to pursue his studies. After completing pharmacy school in Minnesota, Chico settled in southern California where he served the community as a passionate pharmacist , always looking out for the best interests of his patients. Through his work, he met the love of his life, born Carmell Castro, and they were married for 25 years. Chico loved tennis, travel and talking to people. He was an ardent consumer of information and news and was always up for a lively debate, especially concerning politics. Chico was a proud and active Democrat. He is survived by his wife, Carmell, and siblings: Anafisa, Jalil, Rais, and Nafis. He was also blessed to enjoy the company of two generations of nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Monday, January 16th from 3pm-8pm, including a Rosary Service at 6pm, at Hilgenfeld Mortuary (120 E. Broadway Anaheim, CA 92805). A funeral mass will be held Tuesday, January 17th at 10am at St. Boniface Catholic Church (120 N Janss St. Anaheim, CA 92805) immediately followed by a processional to the cemetery (7845 E Santiago Canyon Rd, Orange, CA 92869).
