Bernards Township votes down proposed mosque Bigotry at Large Nazism

BERNARDS — The township's Planning Board voted unanimously Tuesday evening to reject a controversial proposal to build a mosque in residential Liberty Corner neighborhood, according to a report on MyCentralJersey.
By a vote of 6-0 the board voted down the final proposal after more than 35 meetings and four years after the Islamic Society of Basking Ridge purchased a 4.3 acre property on Church Street to construct a 4,252-square-foot mosque, the report said.
Board members said they based their decisions on a "lack of details" in the proposal regarding parking spaces, traffic safety and buffer zones bordering the site's residential neighbors, the report said.
